Tom Hanks is an Executive Producer for HBO’s controversial polygamist series “Big Love”. The night of the premier he made his feelings well known about Prop 8, stating that
“The truth is a lot of Mormons gave a lot of money to the church to make Prop-8 happen,” “There are a lot of people who feel that is un-American, and I am one of them. I do not like to see any discrimination codified on any piece of paper, any of the 50 states in America, but here's what happens now. A little bit of light can be shed, and people can see who's responsible, and that can motivate the next go around of our self correcting Constitution, and hopefully we can move forward instead of backwards. So let's have faith in not only the American, but Californian, constitutional process.”
Apparently Tom Hanks thinks that Mormons who base their votes on conscience and express their opinions are "un American". Well here is my two cents. I think Tom Hanks is "un-American" for ridiculing a group or organization for doing what responsible Americans do...VOTE according to their specific preference. Wait, didn't he vote against Prop 8 according to his preference? Hmm! Don't we call that Democracy? Sounds like he's got something against Mormons. What Tom Hanks and so many others out there are saying is that this vote was unfair. How exactly is it unfair? The people spoke overwhelmingly, and not everyone who cast their ballot in November were Mormons. Where is the outcry of insults and religious bigotry on behalf of LDS members? You'd think there was still an extermination order out on members by the way people have responded to the vote.
Tom Hanks obviously doesn't understand how laws work . He states he doesn't like to see " any discrimination codified on any piece of paper" Law; the principles and regulations established in a community by some authority and applicable to its people, the controlling influence of such rules; the condition of society brought about by their observance: maintaining law and order. Just about every law of this land discriminates in some way, shape or form, which makes his comment ridiculous. What's un-American is that he will insult and demean anyone or anything that doesn't think like he does.

Wow they look so much a like... they think alike to, but wait Barack doesn't support gay marriage either. Do you think that Prop 8 haters will turn their backs on him to? Barack was right...when the going gets tough, people cling to their guns and religion.Oops my resolution is already smashed, but like I said resolutions are always doomed for failure. However Jordan and I have been successful in eliminating Soda, so maybe there is hopety hope!
