Hard Work Makes For Great Results

Jordan has been hard at work building a raised flowerbed for the front of our new house. If you know Jordan, this landscaping project has been well thought out and planned. This pine tree is well over 65 years in fact it might even be older, my Mother remembers it being at this house when she was a teenager. The roots have decided to grow up closer to the service because of the lack of a sprinkler system and it's a little water deprived. Those large roots were quite a pain for Jordan to deal with, but he cut the stones perfectly to accomodate this unruley pine.
If you saw this house before this flower bed you will know how boring and flat it was. We are excited to be able to keep up with our lovely neighborhood considering our specific street has been recognized by so many as the most "kept up" street in the area. Pines make the surrounding soil so acidic that I needed to find plants that would thrive in that condition. So far I've planted three types of Hostas, a Jack Frost, a Sherbet Azalea and a Bright Lights Orange Azalea. We are going to put 3 Winter Boxwoods right in front of the house and plant a Japanese Maple in the corner in front of the fence. We are lucky to be able to live here and we'll just keep on making it more and more beautiful.
