What an exciting 3rd Birthday. Sam had such a great time sharing his special day with his little friends and family. Jordan designed a great invitation and planned all the games. There was a moon bounce (we placed large bubble wrap all over the floor and let them go to town) they pinned the eyeball on the alien, knocked Emperor Zurg out with the beanbag toss, had a little green man treasure hunt and played toss the planet with these really cool planet balloons we found.

Sam had Avery, Kyle, Franklin, Gabriella and Degn come and they enjoyed fun kid foods like uncrustables, raisin packs, ants on a log, string cheese and capri sun drinks. They dove right in to the cake and custom made cookies. Our friend Brittany made these awesome cookies. Check her out, she does amazing work.

We served grilled chicken over salad with hummus, pita and a crudites of awesome veggies. We also had sweet potatoes with golden raisins and cinnamon. Here is the recipe for those who asked. 


Roasted Sweet Potatoes (serves 6)
4 Large Sweet Potatoes
3/4 stick of Butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
3 sticks of cinnamon
1/2 c. golden raisins
1/2 tsp. sea salt
Peel and cube potatoes and place in a 9x13 pan, sprinkle salt on top, cube butter and place on top, sprinkle raisins evenly on top, and nestle the cinnamon sticks inside. Don't mix it all together. Place tinfoil on top and bake at 400 degrees for 30-45 minutes. All depends on the size of your cubes. 

Sam's friends and family were very generous. He got a big pool and float suit for his swimming lessons this summer. A push scooter, a walking, fire spitting dragon, number and letter puzzles, a dinosaur play set with volcano's, trees and sand dunes, just to name a few. His very favorite gift so far is from his uncle Jason and Aunt Michelle who gave him a Buzz Lightyear laser cuff with darts. The kids sure had fun and it was nice to visit with neighbors and friends. It was very obvious how much everyone adores Sam and we appreciate all the hard work that goes in to helping him feel special. 


This morning we woke up and went off to breakfast. He really likes the Blue Plate Diner, but because of a downed transformer they weren't serving this morning, so we went up to Ruth's. They are not worth the wait. They have changed so much and not in a good way. We then came home and played with all of his fun toys.
